A juicy, medium-to-full bodied Bordeaux from a warm and ripe vintage. Mostly Merlot, dash of oak. Drinking well now.
2015 was a terrific vintage, we think, especially for the Merlot-driven wines of Bordeaux’s Right Bank. This is a smooth, quite punchy Bordeaux that’s easy to drink that can be aged a few years, or drink it with pleasure now.
€19.00 a magnum. The 'prestige' house red at Hotel du Vin across the UK (in bottle).
The back label: ‘This is a classic Bordeaux blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. Medium bodied and partially aged in oak, it’s easy, fruity and supple enough to drink quite young. A French bistro sort of wine.' 13.5% alc.
2015 was a terrific vintage, especially for the Merlot-driven wines of Bordeaux’s Right Bank. We harvested the grapes in lovely condition at the start of October and the result is a smooth and quaffable red that’s easy to drink. This can be aged for a few years but we’re already drinking it now.
